Upcoming Volunteer Events:

Mustill Store Training
We offer training for new volunteers as well as experienced store greeters. Take advantage of this rewarding volunteer opportunity! You’ll meet some terrific people, do some light selling and help ensure the continued success of Cascade Locks Park Association. The store is open on weekends, Mar. 31 thru Oct. 28 and the time commitment is for 3 hr. shifts of your choice. Individual training can be set up as well.

Garden Club - First Thursday of each month, from April 5, thru October 4, 9:00-11:00am
Join us as we maintain and improve the gardens within the Mustill yard fence. All gardening levels are welcome. Bring hand tools, a bucket and gloves if you’d like, and enjoy the great company, fresh air and refreshments.  Weather permitting. Call for details.

Current Volunteer Needs:
STORE GREETERS:
Interpretation and outreach. We need volunteers to work in the store weekend afternoons. Tasks involve talking with visitors about the history of the area, the history and importance of the store and explaining the background of the organization and discussing the restoration project.  Duties also include light selling of canal related books, maps, bottled water, etc.  Training is provided.

OFFICE ASSISTANCE
We need help with mailings and other office tasks from time to time.  Help in this area keeps CLPA running and growing! Weekdays and flexible schedule as needed.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS: Become a tour guide or assist with the development of educational materials. Education program volunteers are needed for weekday school programs and Sunday park tours. Training is provided.

HISTORY AND ARCHIVING: The archiving group needs help with the organization and cataloguing of store records. There is also a need for further research of the site and area.

HANDY-PEOPLE: There is a need for help with general property maintenance of the Mustill complex. This could include such activities as mowing, painting, and carpentry.  Volunteers with special maintenance skills are particularly welcome.

GARDENERS: We need gardeners to help maintain the wildflower and perennial gardens at the Mustill Site. As the park develops we will be expanding our gardening visions and activities. Club meets first Thursday morning of the month, April thru October from 9am to 11am.

SPECIAL EVENTS: We need assistance with the organization and management of special events, this could involve helping with the food management, preparation of the site and general assistance with setting up.
